The Perfect Going Away Gift

Earlier this month my friends and I had to say goodbye {for now} to one of our favorite couples. Talk about a bittersweet experience. Yes, we are happy they are starting this exciting chapter, but we of course hate to see them go.

When thinking about the perfect going away gift I wanted to give something that reminded them of home…just in case they ever get homesick. To me, that perfect gift was a Shutterfly Photo Book.

Easy DIY Sea Shell Vase

Earlier this month {while I was enjoying the beautiful Carolina Coast} I decided to collect some sea shells to bring home and eventually craft with. Not only was I planning ahead, but I was also being very resourceful because sea shells along the beach in the Carolinas are free…while sea shells in Indiana cost money.

I love inexpensive crafting πŸ™‚

Anyways, onto my easy sea shell project!

Margarita Recipe Round-Up

Today’s holiday might be one of my biggest faves yet…Happy National Tequila Day!!!

In honor of this special day {and one of my favorite cocktails ever} I thought I’d share a few unique margarita recipes that I ran across on Pinterest…because I don’t know about you, but when I think of tequila I can’t help but think of margaritas.

Lots and lots of margaritas πŸ™‚

Vacay Recap

You may have noticed it’s been a little quiet around here lately. Last week, I was in Ocean Isle, NC for a much needed vacation. And this week…well usually when I go on vacay it takes me about another week to recover from it!

While I work on getting back in to the swing of things I thought I’d share a few highlights from my trip with you today…

Wedding on the Water Fashion

So I have a little confession to make…back in May when I shared my first fashion post I was pretty nervous. As I mentioned then, I enjoy being behind the camera. So to step into the spotlight and have pictures taken of me posing…awkward!

{Like definitely drinking a cocktail beforehand awkward.}

But, I survived and had much more fun with it then I thought {and that’s not just because of the cocktail!}. Plus, it really seemed to be a hit with you all…so thank you for the support and easing my nerves πŸ˜‰ “Posing” for the camera is still super awkward, but I’m starting to get the hang of it.

Anyways, on to the fashion!

Last month I went to a wedding, but not just any wedding…a wedding on a boat. Here in Indiana it’s sort of a rare occurrence to attend a wedding on a boat, so I needed to find the appropriate attire for the occasion…

Summer Sangria Recipe

In my opinion one of the best things about summer is all of the fruity cocktails.

I love margaritas, strawberry daiquiris and of course a good sangria!

My BFF makes one of the best sangria recipes I’ve ever had, so today {with her permission} I thought I’d share it with you…

Red, White, and Style

Like many people this time of the year, I’m getting ready to leave for a much needed vacay. Thank goodness I have the help of some fab interns to keep things moving along while I literally run around like a mad woman preparing for my trip. Please help me welcome back Alex!

For me, Fourth of July is my favorite holiday of the year. The combination of sun (fingers crossed Indiana actually has some for a change), fireworks, cookouts, country music, and friends are all what contributes to the perfect day.

While I find the day to be full of excitement, I cringe seeing cookie cutter outfits like American flags being screen printed onto a t-shirt. Why not go explore your wardrobe and have some fun with your outfit! Who knew you can be patriotic and stylish without breaking the bank?!

I pulled out three outfits that I think are perfect for the Fourth while still being on trend. All of the pieces shown below were already in my closet, which let me avoid the headache of going to the mall (hallelujah!) and spending money. I pulled together a casual/easy going, a semi-casual, and fancy-ish (emphasis on the –ish!) outfits to inspire you for this upcoming holiday πŸ™‚
