home tour

According to the fabulous Lisa Vanderpump (for those of you unfamiliar, she is one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) it is a British tradition to name your house.  It adds personality, and let’s just be honest…it’s chic and fun!

Living Room Kitchen 2

Our house (condo) had already taken on the name of the “Purple Palace” before I had even heard of this tradition. As you can guess I was thrilled to learn that Lisa Vanderpump and I have something in common!

Living Room 4

My sister and I live together. We get along great, and it makes perfect sense for us because we share A LOT of stuff. I’m not looking forward to the day when we have to live separately, and my wardrobe will drastically be cut in half! Here’s hoping we will always live close enough to borrow each others clothes 🙂

Living Room

Since we are two girly girls we wanted our place to be just that…pretty girly.

How many times in your life will you be able to have a bright purple kitchen?! I think it’s safe to say we accomplished our mission. I’ll let you be the judge of that though.

Kelli's Room

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of sister’s room because she is in the process of redecorating it. I will post some better pictures once it has been completed.  Stay tuned for her new look! (Also note, that night stand to the right, against the wall doesn’t really go there.)

What do you think, is the Purple Palace girly enough? I hope Lisa Vanderpump and I have inspired you to come up with a name for your house!

    Erin:
Love your house especially, the purple and pink walls. You are very
clever and should go further with your decorating.

    • Thanks Arlene! We have enjoyed decorating and redecorating! Glad some of you will be able to visualize what I’m talking about when I refer to the condo now 🙂

  • Rachel

I absolutely love the colors! Where did you get the purple in your bathroom?!?

    • Thanks, Rachel! The wall color is a sample from Porter Paints called Grape Popsicle. I used Behr Ultra Semi Gloss #3753 for the paint. It is the same color in the kitchen, but looks a little different without all the natural light. Glad you liked it 🙂

  • Hello! I featured your dining room and kitchen in my monthly blog series, Get Your Color On!. Each month I select a color, provide tips on how to decorate with it, and feature other bloggers with their projects that relate to this color.

This month’s post is all about purple, so your dining room and kitchen were perfect examples! Feel free to grab a featured button and check out my post at Get Your Color On! Purple. Thanks for sharing your wonderful creativity!

Your bathroom printed hand towels are so cute! Where did you get them?! It looks like it matches your shower curtain.. How fun!!

    • Thanks, Dani! Both the shower curtain and towels are from Target. Glad you liked them 🙂

What color is that on the bathroom walls?? LOVE LOVE THE COLOR!!!!!!

    • The wall color is a sample from Porter Paints called Grape Popsicle. I used Behr Ultra Semi Gloss #3753 for the paint. Glad you like it 🙂

  • My daughter loves the colors you have used in your bathroom so I’m trying to replicate. I’m confused however, you say you used 2 paints: the porter paint and a behr. Did you mix them? Or are there actually 2 colors on the walls? Thanks so much.

    • I’m glad your daughter likes the color, Katriona! The color I used is Behr Ultra Semi Gloss #3753. The Porter paint was the sample I found, then I took it to Home Depot and they found a match with the Behr color. Hope this helps 🙂 Let me know if you have any other questions.

      • Katriona

Ohhhh thank you! Now I understand.
        Super helpful.

Okay thanks! Is the porter paint and the Behr ultra semi gloss used together? or painted as separate coats?

  • Iisha

I love this bathroom! Where did you find the neutral artwork to balance out the bolder wall colors?

    • Thanks, Lisha! I found them at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx back in 2011. I think they are one of a kinda too, because several people have asked me about them and we could never locate them. I have recently moved though, and am looking to sell them if you’d be interested. If so send me an email: theblueeyeddove@gmail.com 🙂
