Good morning!
It seems like just yesterday I was heading to Nashville, TN for my best friend’s Bachelorette Party. Time sure does fly!
When I started planning for this party last year I did what we all tend to do…turn to Pinterest for some inspiration! And I found some great ideas, but I also came up with a few of my own. Since we are in the midst of wedding season I’m sure there are a lot of you who are in the middle of planning a Bachelorette Party. Here are some of the tips and tricks I learned while planning my best friend’s.
Tip #1 Destination
As I mentioned we went to Nashville, TN for my best friend’s Bachelorette Party. Nashville is a GREAT place to go for Bachelorette Parties! And it was a perfect central location for our guests. It can be expensive to have a destination Bachelorette Party though. Keep this in mind during the planning process. Figure out the cost for lodging and let the guests know ahead of time. Try and be respectful of everyone’s budget, and find something that works for all the guests. Then book your room as far in advance as possible!
You can still have just as much fun if you decide to stay in town for the Bachelorette Party….and also save money!
Tip #2 Decorations
Themed parties are always so much fun! We decided to go with a pink and black theme for this Bachelorette Party. Aren’t pink and black really the staple colors for Bachelorette Parties anyways?? We used pink feather boas and mirrored disco balls for an added touch. Since our party was in August Hobby Lobby already had their Christmas decorations out….which is an exciting fact all in its own π Anyways, they sell these mirrored disco balls in packs of 6 as Christmas ornaments, and mirrored disco ball garland! They are perfect to use for your “Girl’s Night Out” Bachelorette party!
Tip #3 Snacks
Who doesn’t like to eat!? Make sure to have plenty of snacks available for your guests.
Use your food as a decoration! Decorate what you will serve according to your theme.
Sometimes you have to use what you have…especially when you go on a destination Bachelorette Party. We needed a bar. What does every hotel room have that works perfect for a bar!? An ironing board! It’s a little taller than the average table too. Works like a charm!
Tip #4 Games
You’ve got to have a few games to entertain the guest’s at some point. We played “Kiss the Bachelor”! Blind fold the guests, spin them around, and let them loose! It’s lots of fun to see where everyone ends up.
Another fun game is to have the guests purchase some undergarments for the bride. They can choose these based on their own personality, or go with something the Bride likes. Then the Bride decides who brought which pair. Guaranteed for lots of laughs! And it adds some additional decor to your party…bonus!
Tip #5 Caption Board
I wanted to make something to capture our memories from the Bachelorette Party, so I made a Caption Board. Random strangers can also give the Bride some tips on marriage, and get their picture taken with her. For a tutorial on how I made a similiar Caption Board click here.
Tip #6 Party Favors
You can’t have a party without some party favors! We gave the guests candy, chocolate covered pretzels, pink beads, flashing rings and individually sized alcohol shots. Then I used pink tulle with a sparkly black ribbon to put the party favors together. We also gave everyone a personalized tumbler.
Tip #7 Meet a Bachelor/Bachelorette Contestant
Ok…this might be a little out of your control. But, how perfect was it that we met Kacie B. from the Bachelor during our Bachelorette Party!?
Tip #7 Dress to Match Your Theme
We decided to wear black dresses and accessorize with pink jewelry, while the Bride wore white. This is a fun idea to let the Bride standout…after all she is the star of this party! And be sure to get her some cute “Bachelorette” accessories to0 π
What are some of your tips for throwing a Bachelorette Party?
Have a good day!

May 13, 2015 at 5:58 amHi, I’m planning a bachelorette party now. Can you please tell me where you got the personalized tumblers? Thanks!

May 13, 2015 at 11:13 amHi Heather, the bride’s sister actually made the tumblers for the party. I think she bought them at Walmart and added the initials herself. Hope you have a great time at your party π

November 5, 2015 at 5:42 amHi–
I am planning my sisters bachelorette party for January and she just decided on Nashville! I would love to hear more of your suggestions on what to do, where to go, and where to eat in Nashville! I am from Minneapolis and my sister lives in DC and Nashville is new to both of us. Let me know if you have other ideas for us!

November 5, 2015 at 6:14 pmHi Kate! How exciting, Nashville is a great place for Bachelorette Parties! We rented a limo and went to a few wineries which was really fun. Another fun thing I’d recommend in Nashville is going on the “NashTrash” Bus Tour. It’s a comedy tour on a pink bus that takes you around to some of the city’s attractions. There are so many good restaurants and fun bars with local music. I wish I could remember all of the ones I’ve been too. Here is a website I’ve looked at in the past that lists some of the hot spots for dining/clubbing: http://www.nashvillebachelorettepartyguide.com/. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions, or want me to explain something more. Thanks for stopping by π
