What's In My Beach Bag - The Blue Eyed Dove

Happy Friday!

As you are reading this I am sitting by the pool enjoying this peaceful morning because…I’m on VACATION!

….it’s ok to be jealous if you want

For the next week I will be soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches of North Carolina!

I could take this time to show you what I have packed for my trip, but that would take way too long because I tend to pack like I’m going away for a month.

A girl’s gotta have options though, right?

Instead I thought I’d give you a glimpse inside my beach bag to see what essential items I can’t live without while lounging around the beach all day.

1. Sunglasses

This is an obvious one Can’t see without them, and you have to protect your eyes. And I love these sunglasses!

2. Reading material

I enjoy reading a magazine or book while on the beach. I like reading uplifting and motivating things…and HGTV magazines are full of great ideas to keep the creative juices flowing.

3. Lip Balm with SPF 20

It’s always important to keep your lips moisturized, and your lip balm should contain an SPF too. I love this lip balm from Beauti Control. I wear it all the time, even when I’m not on the beach.

4. Drink Tumbler

You have to stay hydrated while you are out in the sun. I try to drink as much water as possible…and of course fit in a few cocktails

5. Cell & Headphones

Because I love nothing more than listening to Pandora while I soak up the sun. It’s so relaxing! Two of my fav stations are Boyz II Men radio (so old school I know), and More (by Usher) radio. I always default to these stations because they are awesome!

6. SPF 30

Because I’m not 20 years old any more and want to age as gracefully as possible I really like Coopertone’s sunscreen because it is light and goes on so easily.

7. Snack

You can sure work up an appetite laying on the beach all day! I like to eat a little protein as a snack. Lara Bars in Peanut Butter Cookie are my fav. And they are all natural. Bonus!

8. Towel

Another given. I love Vera Bradley towels because they are so long and colorful. The perfect accessory for the beach!

9. Hat

Even though I don’t always wear this it’s nice to know I have it when I might have gotten too much sun….or when my hair is a mess which happens a lot at the beach

And of course I carry all of my necessities in a cute Vera Bradley beach bag! (Yes, my towel just so happens to match this beach bag too in case you were wondering.)
