I have to admit…I am not the best cook. I don’t mind cooking, but it takes too long and I have a hard time following directions for some reason. I once attempted to make French Toast and instead of putting a ½ teaspoon (or whatever small amount of salt it called for) I used a cup. Whoops! I’m sure we’ve all done this at some point, right!? I guess you could say I’m still learning.
Luckily, one of my besties, Danielle, is a great cook! And she likes to keep things healthy and simple when she does it. Since I tend to struggle, and she doesn’t we decided to do a collaboration of recipes for my blog.
Since St. Patrick’s Day is on Monday Danielle whipped up some fun recipes you could make for a party, or just have to celebrate the holiday yourself! (more…)
I made it through “the most dramatic Bachelor finale ever” in case you were wondering. Let me tell you it didn’t disappoint, the finale was actually dramatic! But, enough about the show. Let’s get to my Bachelor Finale Viewing Party! (more…)
Here is my full DIY Shabby Chic Bird post (originally a guest-post over at House by Hoff).
I think it is safe to say that everyone is ready for spring this year. I personally love the sunny skies, warmer temperatures and pastel colors that the season brings. I also have started to become a fan of decorating with birds. They are so shabby and chic! And spring is all about the birds.
I found these wooden bird cut-outs at Michael’s, and immediately started to visualize the springy vibe they would bring to my home. I was sold! Then I found some fabric at Jo-Ann Fabrics that coordinated with my home decor, and felt like spring. Scrapbook paper would work just as well for the birds if you choose. (more…)
Have you heard the birds chirping lately? Spring is right around the corner… I can feel it! Today I am excited to let you know that I will be guest posting over at one of my favorite blogs, House by Hoff! I’ll be sharing the DIY Shabby Chic Birds I made for spring.
I’m a sucker for The Bachelor/Bachelorette reality tv show. I’ve watched almost all of the seasons; minus a few weird ones like when they had a guy who was a Prince or something. I always say I’m not going to watch the new season, but they still pull me in somehow. I guess its because I love love, and think that by watching I’ll gain some valuable insights that will answer ALL of my questions about men. Well, that hasn’t happened yet, but a girl can still dream, right?! (more…)
I have to admit I never thought I would enjoy going to antique stores or garage sales. Looking through other people’s junk while growing up had no appeal to me whatsoever. Then I became an adult, and started paying my own bills. Like magic, all of the sudden other people’s junk (at much cheaper prices) became very appealing! And to think that I could add some new paint, or fabric to a piece making it my own…why didn’t I realize this before!? This took my love of crafting and shopping to a whole new level.
My bedroom is one of my favorite rooms, and that is because some of my best antique store/garage sale finds are located there. It brings a smile to my face remembering how excited I was when I found these pieces, and then gushing over how perfect they were with my mom, over and over again. Ah, memories!
I wish I had before and after pictures of these fabulous finds to show you. At the time, I didn’t know they would be very important to have for my future blog. Regardless, they are still fun to share.
