It’s been awhile since I have shared my clean skincare routine with you. Last year one of my biggest focuses was my health, and really paying attention to the potential harmful ingredients that I was putting on my skin. And I’m thrilled to be able to say that I absolutely love my updated, cleaner daily skincare routine!
Last summer Beautycounter introduced the Countertime Skincare Collection. Primarily geared towards those {like me} who are looking to repair their skin from previous damage and slow down the aging process – safely. A key ingredient in most skincare regimes for helping with both of these concerns is Retinol, but it isn’t exactly safe.
Retinol comes from Retinoids, which are linked to vitamin A and known to be a popular ingredient in anti-aging skincare products. Studies indicate that retinoic acid can have harmful side effects including skin irritation and sensitivity to sun exposure. Some countries have restricted the use of retinol since the ingredient has shown evidence of being dangerous to our health and/or the environment. That’s kind of scary!
The Countertime Skincare Collection features the ingredient called: Retinatural Complex. Retinatural Complex is primarily made from the plants Bakuchiol and Swiss Alpine Rose. Bakuchiol is very similar to retinol, but does not cause skin irritation or sensitivity to sun exposure. It comes from India and has been used in traditional Chinese skincare for centuries. Swiss Alpine Rose helps protect the skin from dehydration and environmental aggressors. It is grown in the highest altitudes of the Swiss Alps – hence it’s name.
Not only is this skincare collection safe for your skin, it also is AMAZING! Remember, I am a skincare snob and have tried tons of high-end and drugstore products. I’m not wasting time and money on products that don’t work. These products work!
My Cleaner Daily Skincare Routine {in order of use}:
1.Countertime Lipid Defense Cleansing Oil
I am not a fan of cleansing lotions. Typically, I have found that they don’t lather as much as I’d prefer when removing my makeup. Which leaves me feeling like my makeup is still on. I was more than ready to try something new after using a cleansing lotion for so long. This oil was a very pleasant surprise! It gently removes makeup without stripping any moisture or other natural essentials from your skin.
Use: Apply one pump to face and neck in the morning and evening – unless washing face in shower.
2. Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum AKA Miracle Cream!
This was the product I was the most excited about trying when the Countertime Collection was first released. Looking to repair damaged skin, improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and increase your skin firmness? This is the product for you! Also made with Tripeptide which helps plump the skin, keep in hydrated and increase firmness and elasticity.
Use: Apply one pump to face an neck morning and evening using upward strokes. I also use this serum after applying the Overnight Resurfacing Peel – they work GREAT together!
3. Countertime Antioxident Soft Cream
A daily moisturizer that will leave your skin feeling plump, firm, hydrated and protected from the daily environmental aggressors – all while looking healthy, brighter and glowing.
Use: Apply one-two pumps to face and neck using upward strokes in the morning.
4. Countertime Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream
This moisturizer is thick and provides more hydration to your skin while you sleep. It helps firm skin while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I have definitely noticed a brighter complexion in the morning since I started using this cream.
Use: Apply a small scoop to face and neck using upward strokes in the evening.
5. Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream
If you are looking for an eye cream that will produce results this is the product for you! Not only does this cream reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles, but it also helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes. Results happen fairly quickly too! One of my clients shared that this eye cream worked wonders for her, compared to a previous high-end product that she used and didn’t really notice any differences.
Use: Apply a small amount to ring finger and dab under eye area morning and evening.
So this is my normal daily skincare routine. Do I still use some of my other favorite Beautycounter skincare products? Absolutely! I just incorporate the oil and masks in a few times a week, or whenever I notice I need them. The only thing I have gotten away from are the products in the Countermatch skincare line. When you do commit to using a skincare collection it’s best to stick with the items that come in that line because they are designed to work best together.
