As you know by now I’m really into skincare {see this post, this post and this post for more proof!}. Recently, I decided to splurge on another popular clean beauty product – the Cleansing Balm. It has received so many great reviews, and even though I wasn’t sure how I’d fit it in {I’ve never used a product like this before} I didn’t want to miss out on using it any longer. I’m so glad I made the splurge – it may be my new favorite product!
Check out why I decided to make the switch to cleaner beauty products here!
Cleansing Balm
I’ve never used a balm on my face before, but really liked the idea of this multipurpose Cleansing Balm. Plus, any skincare product that has Vitamin C in it always intrigues me. I have some pigmentation on my face from sun damage, and Vitamin C helps diminish the appearance of these pesky spots and makes your complexion brighter.
What makes it effective?
This balm is made with raspberry and cranberry seed oils that help improve the clarity and brightness of your skin. The balm breaks down oil, dirt and other aggressors/impurities that lie on the surface of your skin. If you are concerned about brightening up any skin discolorations this balm is for you!
How I use the Cleansing Balm:
I use the Cleansing Balm a few different ways. About two times a week I use it as a true cleanser {simply wash my make up off with it}. With all Beautycounter products a little goes a long way, and they recommend using the amount that is the size of an almond. It comes with a very soft muslin cloth that helps remove your make up. You definitely need to use this cloth {or a wash cloth} to remove make up, as it will not come off with only water. Your make up will be gone, and your skin looks and feels hydrated! Then I follow-up with my PM Skincare Routine.
I also love using the Cleansing Balm as an overnight mask a few times a week {I alternate using the balm & Overnight Resurfacing Peel} after cleansing. Again, an almond size amount is all you need. Then I apply the balm to my face and neck. Your skin will feel greasy, but that’s ok! You will wake up with brighter, refreshed and hydrated skin – and if you have pigmentation spots I always notice they are lighter! In the morning you simply rinse it off with water. It’s well worth the weird feeling you have after applying before it really sets in.
I’ve also heard you can use the Cleansing Balm on cuticles, cracked skin on the feet and even mosquito bites! Talk about multipurpose. I guarantee you’ll love this product! And you’ll probably have it forever because it comes in a big container {and also a travel size if you want to start small and test it out!}.
It’s such a good feeling to find products that produce results and aren’t bad for you! Let me know if you have questions, as I’d love to help you achieve your skincare goals. You can also fill out this quick form for personalized skincare recommendations from me.
