When I started to make the switch to better, cleaner beauty products last fall I began with skincare products. I also kept the switch semi-simple, because it’s a good idea to give your skin some time to adjust, plus it can get expensive to jump into a full new line of skincare products. I limited myself to moisturizers {for maintenance and prevention}, and one fun product {for repair} to focus on some of my problem areas. Last week, I shared the three products I use for my AM rountine, and today {as promised} here are the products I use for my PM routine!
Check out why I decided to make the switch to better beauty products here!
Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream
Everyone should be using a moisturizer in the evening. Everyone. This is the time of the day to rejuvenate your skin. Since using the Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream I have been so impressed with the texture and clarity of my skin in the morning – it’s smooth and bright! The cream is lightweight and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, just like the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion {they are both in the same line} that I use in the AM. If you are looking for a starter moisturizer for your evening skincare routine this one is a great pick! Like most Beautycounter products a little goes a long way – I’ve been using mine for the last five months and it’s just now getting low.
Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream
I use the Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream {sidenote: I’ve also heard really good things about this eye cream} in the AM and PM, mainly because I loved the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion so much – it is in the same line. OMG! After maybe a few uses I could already see a difference. The fine lines I had are pretty much gone, and the skin under my eyes is overall much brighter when I wake up too. And all it takes is a very teeny-tiny amount each day. I’ve tried a lot of eye creams, and this one is excellent!
No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil
This is the product I was probably the most skeptical, yet very intrigued about. An oil on your face!? I’ve used a lot of different skincare products over the years, but never oils on my face. But I wanted to splurge on something good to help with my sun spots/pigmentation, and this product is an award winner. I already knew Vitamin C helps diminish the appearance of sun damage so I decided to give the No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil a try.
If I had to pick only one Beautycounter product to use here on out I’d have a hard time giving up this one. Not only have I noticed my pigmentation fading, but my overall complexion is just brighter. It’s lightweight, does not make your face feel oily {it feels really smooth!}, has not caused any breakouts {in case you were wondering – I know I was concerned about that!}, and it has a delightful, light citrus smell to it. And all it takes is a few drops of the oil to cover your face and neck.
My Beautycounter Skincare PM Routine:
- I obviously wash my face first before applying any other skincare products to it. I’m still finishing up with another cream cleanser, but just ordered this cleanser. I can’t wait to try it! Every other day I use this Charcoal Cleansing Bar. It’s great, but the charcoal can dry out your skin, so that is why I alternate with a cream-based cleanser. After my face is clean I apply two pumps {I know it looks like a regular jar, but it’s actually a cool push pump!} of the Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream to my face and neck.
- Next I apply one teeny-tiny pump of the Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream to the tip of my ring finger and lightly dab it underneath my eyes and in the corners. When you apply the eye cream with your ring fingers you are less likely to drag or stretch your skin in this delicate area – fun skincare fact!
- Lastly, I add 2-3 drops of the Brightening Facial Oil to my face and neck. Remember a little goes a long way with these Beautycounter products!
As you probably noticed, two of my favorite Beautycounter products for my PM routine are also the same ones I use for my AM routine. I started with the basics, and this was the perfect approach for me to ease into better beauty. And it was much easier on the wallet too!
Everyone has different skincare concerns and focus areas. I love that Beautycounter helps you decide which skincare products will work best for you by selecting these focus areas right on the site here {check one or all boxes that apply to you under the Concern section}. Then I’d recommend narrowing it down to a few basic products from there. A moisturizer, and cleanser is a great place to start.
As I mentioned in this post better beauty has started to become more important to me, and that is why I became a Beautycounter Consultant {and also because I love their products!}. If you have any questions please let me know. I’d be more than happy to share my experiences and help you find products you too will love! You can shop my Beautycounter page directly here or contact me at [email protected]. Be sure to sign-up for my Better Beauty email list for more product information and special subscriber incentives here!
Now that I have some of the basic Beautycounter skincare products under my belt I’m branching out and trying a few new things. Stay tuned!
