There are so many fun things that go into the beginning stages of planning a wedding. You decide on a date, start thinking about the venue, determine your wedding party, and then come up with cute little gifts to ask each one of your besties to stand up with you on your big day as bridesmaids!
This past month I helped my sister, Kelli come up with creative {and inexpensive} gifts to ask each one of her friends to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, and today I thought I’d share this fun project with you.
1. Card – This card idea came from J. Crew, and they were $6.75 each. If that works into your wedding budget kudos to you. It didn’t exactly for my sissy, so we bought some blank cards and gold envelopes at Michael’s and made our own.
2. LOVE Candles – These were a cute colorful add-on that happened to be 50 cents at Michaels. Score! What’s a wedding without love details anyways?
3. Picture Frame – To add a little personalization to each gift we included a picture with the bride-to-be, and spray-painted the picture frames gold. The frames were also found at Michael’s in the dollar section.
4. Cake Pops – Instead of buying these somewhere we made our own. And let me just say they were amazing {I should know I ate at least 10 of them} and a huge hit with the bridesmaids! One of the girls even thought they came from a shop that was making the wedding cake. Apparently we missed our calling as cake pop makers. You can find the recipe we used for the cake pops here.
5. Diamond Make-up Mirror – Make-up mirrors and a little bling = the perfect bridesmaids gift! Again another Michael’s dollar section score.
6. XOXO Trinket Dish – You can buy all kinds of cute trinket dishes anywhere for $10+, or you can buy a trinket dish at Target for $2 and make your own! To see how we made these click here.
We put everything into a DIY heart-shaped gift box, filled the box with white decorative shreds and used some white tulle to tie a bow on top.
Each gift {heart-shaped gift box included} cost about $12 to make.
Who could ever say no to being a bridesmaid, especially when you get all of these cute gifts!
And in case you’re wondering what my role is going to be in the wedding party…
Of course I also said YES!
Good thing since one of my first maid-of-honor duties was to help make the bridesmaids’ gifts! I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

October 6, 2015 at 7:02 amThanks, Naomi! Unfortunately, I’m not sure what the font is. We found the card on J. Crew’s website and one of our friends wrote them.

November 26, 2016 at 10:34 pmLove this idea! When you spray painted the hearts did you coat it with anything after? I want my girls to be able to keep it as a keepsake and don’t want the paint chipping of or ruining things down the road. Thanks!

November 29, 2016 at 5:30 pmThanks, Nikki! We did not coat the box, but I’m sure you could seal it to prevent it from chipping.
