Good Morning!
We made it to June…which means we are halfway through 2014. Crazy. It also means we have made it to Summer…yay! Well, technically Summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st, but who really pays attention to that date anyways!? It’s Summer Time!
Last year I wanted to do something different, and add some fun Summer decor to my dining room table.
It typically looks like this…
Not terrible by any means, but it’s always fun to switch things up a little bit.
Enter Summer Dining Room decor!
Most of my projects start with a simple inspiration. Last year I knew I wanted to update my dining room some how, but wasn’t sure which direction to go in. One day I was browsing around Pier 1 and saw some adorable floral napkin rings. They also had these turquoise striped napkins. And just like that I found my inspiration! Although the floral napkin rings didn’t come in a color I wanted. So I went the DIY route. I purchased these purple flowers at Michael’s. Cut the stems off, hot glued the flower to a napkin ring and trimmed a few of the petals.
I also bought some new navy placemats, and these Scalloped Capiz Placemats at Pier 1. The Scalloped Capiz Placemats cost a little more than I wanted to spend, but they were too cute…I couldn’t pass them up! Plus I’m sure I used a coupon 🙂
What’s a dining room table without a great centerpiece? I found this perfect Moroccan lantern at Marshall’s. Then I added a few starfish to give it a beachy look.
Nice and easy Summer Dining Room decor additions, don’t you think?
Welcome Summer! We have been anxiously awaiting your arrival 🙂
What simple Summer decor additions have you added to your home?
Happy Monday!
