In honor of Mother’s Day, today’s post is dedicated to my fabulous Mother π
I’ve learned so much from my mom over the years. I thought I’d share some of the most important things she has taught me with you today.
1. Be genuine
My mom is the most genuine person I know. She has taught me to be genuine by being authentic, and truly caring about others. I can’t imagine getting through life acting any other way.
2. How to be stylish & creative
My mom has taught me everything I know about fashion and decorating. This also partly stems from all those trips we took to the mall over the years! She is my go-to-gal whenever I have a question about decorating, or need an opinion. This is a passion of her’s, which she has passed on to me. As they say “like mother, like daughter”.
3. How to have fun
My mom is a nut! She always knows actually what to do, or say to make my sister and I laugh. I’m talking things that make us shake our heads and wonder…”seriously, what is wrong with her”!? But, we still laugh! She has taught me not to take myself too seriously. You have to have fun in life, and she certainly does…all while trying to make sure we do too π
4. Be a hard worker
Both of my parents are very hard workers. This is something they have always instilled in my sister and I. My mom has never been afraid to pick up an extra job to provide for our family. She has always encouraged us to work hard and do our best in anything we do.
5. How to love unconditionally
No matter how old I get, there are just times when I need my mom. And she is always there for me. She would do anything to ensure her daughters’ happiness.
Now days I often catch myself thinking…”I can’t believe I just did or said that…that is something mom would do!” But, as I get older it just tends to make me smile. If I turn out to be half the woman she is I think I will be ok…because she is wonderful! I’m so blessed to have her in my life!
Oh, and she has also taught me to appreciate the finer things in life….like a REALLY good piece of cake! Thanks for that mom π
What are some of the most important things you have learned from your mom?
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there!
Have a great weekend!
