I’m a sucker for The Bachelor/Bachelorette reality tv show. I’ve watched almost all of the seasons; minus a few weird ones like when they had a guy who was a Prince or something. I always say I’m not going to watch the new season, but they still pull me in somehow. I guess its because I love love, and think that by watching I’ll gain some valuable insights that will answer ALL of my questions about men. Well, that hasn’t happened yet, but a girl can still dream, right?! (more…)

I have to admit I never thought I would enjoy going to antique stores or garage sales. Looking through other people’s junk while growing up had no appeal to me whatsoever. Then I became an adult, and started paying my own bills. Like magic, all of the sudden other people’s junk (at much cheaper prices) became very appealing! And to think that I could add some new paint, or fabric to a piece making it my own…why didn’t I realize this before!? This took my love of crafting and shopping to a whole new level.
My bedroom is one of my favorite rooms, and that is because some of my best antique store/garage sale finds are located there. It brings a smile to my face remembering how excited I was when I found these pieces, and then gushing over how perfect they were with my mom, over and over again. Ah, memories!
I wish I had before and after pictures of these fabulous finds to show you. At the time, I didn’t know they would be very important to have for my future blog. Regardless, they are still fun to share.
Recently, I decided it was time to revamp our napkin ring holders. We purchased our original ones from Pier 1, and they were made from peacock feathers. I wanted to keep the same theme this time around.
Did you know that today is national Floral Design Day!? Me either, but what a fun “holiday” to celebrate! I thought this would be a good opportunity to get into the spring spirit.
My mom loves putting together floral arrangements, so I figured this would be a nice and easy project we could do together. We went to Michael’s and picked up a cute vase and some flower stems that screamed spring. Then we trimmed the stems and put the flowers in the vase. It ended up being a smaller project than what I initially envisioned, but sometimes those can be the best ones. Now, I have a beautiful floral arrangement to help me visualize springtime!
According to the fabulous Lisa Vanderpump (for those of you unfamiliar, she is one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) it is a British tradition to name your house. It adds personality, and let’s just be honest…it’s chic and fun! Our house (condo) had already taken on the name of the “Purple Palace” before I had even heard of this tradition. As you can guess I was thrilled to learn that Lisa Vanderpump and I have something in common!
My sister and I live together. We get along great, and it makes perfect sense for us because we share A LOT of stuff. (more…)
