Holiday Song Inspired Project Blog Hop

Good Morning!

I’m pretty positive that I was a singer in a past life.

I love nothing more {well…except for maybe the Real Housewives of course} than jamming to some tunes in my car, at work, in the shower…when it comes to my “performances” I’m not picky.

If you ever pass me “performing” in my car just smile and wave :)

So when I heard about making a craft inspired by a holiday song the performer in me perked right up!

10 Fun projects you can make today...All inspired by Holiday Songs!

I decided to pick one of my favorite Christmas songs, Let It Snow {preferably the Jessica Simpson rendition}.

You know how it goes…

Oh the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful. And since we’ve no place to go…Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

{Just picture Jessica Simpson blurting that verse at the top of her lungs like only Jessica Simpson can do.}

As much as I like so many verses of that song I decided to keep it simple and stick with the song’s title for my craft.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used to make it:

12×12 white canvas

1 sheet of glittery scrapbook paper

3 snowflakes

Mod Podge

Let It traceable font

scissors

Let It Snow Craft

Directions:

1. First I picked my font in a Word document…fancy stuff, huh!? I chose the font Segoe Script size 175.

2. Then I printed out my diy Let It, and cut it out.

3. Next, I flipped my traceable font over onto the backside of scrapbook paper and traced it 3 times.

4. After each Let It was traced I cut them out with scissors.

And here’s where I will insert the fact that I wish I had a fancy Silhouette machine…I know it would have made this project and my life much easier {sigh}.

Now onto the fun part!

5. I placed the Let Its and snowflakes onto the canvas to make sure they were evenly spaced.

6. Then I put a thin layer of Mod Podge on the back side of the Let Its and added them to the canvas.

7. Once the Let Its were in place I applied a thin layer of Mod Podge to them and the entire piece of canvas to seal, and let it dry.

8. Lastly, because my snowflakes are made out of a thicker material I hot glued them to the canvas.

I love the way it turned out!

And I’m glad I decided to keep it simple because the thought of cutting out and tracing a whole verse…well that was not going to happen!

Thanks, Tiffany! We’ve been lucky to find lots of cool “non-traditional” decorations over the years :)
