Father’s Day

Good Morning!

So far I have told you a little bit about my sister, and my mom…but have yet to really introduce you to another very important person in my life…my dad!!

Since Father’s Day is Sunday it is only fitting that today’s post is dedicated to him, and all of the important things he has taught me over the years.

Father's Day

1. Be confident

From attempting to play sports in junior high, to getting good grades in school, to competing in pageants, to establishing myself in my sales career. My dad has instilled a very important trait in me…and that is to be confident. This hasn’t always been easy for me over the years (especially when playing sports!), but the fact that my dad is so confident in my abilities gives me the confidence I need in myself.

2. Be friendly

I know it may be hard to believe, but I can be a shy person. However, once you get to know me…I’m anything but a shy person. I know I don’t get it either…but trust me 🙂 I think I get this from my dad, so we can blame him for the confusion! Once we break through our shyness we are both Chatty Cathy’s. My dad is a very friendly person, and always encourages me to be as well…hence all the talking! But, it’s really about showing a genuine interest in other people and their lives.

3. Be passionate

Whether it’s his business,  his golf game, the IU Hoosiers, his perfectly mowed lawn or his family, my dad is a very passionate person. He gives 110% in everything he does, and to everything he cares about.

4. Be positive

And just like being passionate about everything he does he is also the most positive person I know. He constantly reminds me to look at the glass half-full, when I’d prefer to chuck the half-empty glass out the window! But, that’s what dad’s are for 🙂 He is great at helping me see the larger picture when I need to most.

5. Be cool

My dad is a super cool dude! From his 15 pairs of golf shoes, to his love of great music like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Carly Rae Jepsen (he obviously likes some more manly singers too). He is awesome and is one of my favorite people to be around! Which is a good thing since I work for him and have to spend lots of time with him! But, I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂

Father's Day

I’ve learned so much from my dad, and continue to learn new things from him all the time. I’ve also learned that we really need to have a photo shoot with him on Father’s Day, because we hardly have any recent pictures together! I’ll work on that. Anyways, I’m so lucky to have him in my life!

Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I hope you enjoy your 16th pair of golf shoes that we got you 🙂

What have you learned from your dad?

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dad’s out there!

Have a great weekend!
