A Shabby Chic Bridal Shower – Part 2

Let’s be honest…people come to parties to eat. I think food displays add so much to a party. When you use the right kind of props to highlight your food it is so appealing! As promised, here is Part 2 of the Shabby Chic Bridal Shower where I focus more on our food displays, and a fun game we played to keep the guests entertained.

I like to serve small portions at parties. Think sliders and bite-sized foods. They look prettier and seem to last longer. Plus, you can use fun little pics to add some more detail to the food. And how lovely is my bridal shower planning buddy by the way!?

A Shabby Chic Bridal Shower

For this shower we not only used China luncheon plates for each guest, but also used some old China platters to display the food on. Then each food label was made from a small piece of burlap topped with lace.

We used lace table clothes and some extra shabby chic fabric that was left over from the table runners. It’s nice to have extra pieces from your main decor that you can tie in other places.

We added an old apple crate for some height, a few birds, China plates, candles and left over flowers from the table centerpieces. Very Shabby Chic don’t you think?

I love using drink dispensers at parties. They can be a little messy if they drip, but they are so pretty to look at! Luckily, for this party we had tiny China plates to put under each dispenser to catch any runaway drips.

We used a burlap runner and placed a doily under each dispenser to add a little Shabby Chic decor.

Using small Mason Jars for glasses is a must for any Shabby Chic party. We used lemons as garnish – which also worked well with the drinks we served. Practical and pretty…I love that combo! We used silver platters to display the glasses on. This made them look even prettier!

We used these tags for each guest to label their drinks. Then they tied their label on the Mason Jar with a piece of twine.

We encouraged the guests to label their drink with something fun…this is obviously the star of the shower’s drink 😉

Remember, little details go a long way!

Lastly, what is a bridal shower without games!? I don’t mind playing games at Bridal Showers if they keep things moving along. Dressing someone up in a toilet paper wedding gown is just not my thing. I personally enjoy playing games where you get to know the couple better. And this is what we did at the Shabby Chic Bridal Shower.

We asked both the bride and groom a series of questions before the shower. We read their responses and let the guests decide who said what by holding lips for the bride, and mustaches for the groom. If you haven’t played a game like this at a shower I highly recommend it! It’s always entertaining. And look how cute the lips look in the pictures!? Again, small details that add a lot.

Gotta love fun props too!

Have a great day!
